I’m a Los Angeles-based journalist who specializes in personal finance, travel, home and lifestyle articles. I also have extensive experience covering parenting, relationship and work/family issues for newspapers, magazines and the web. I’m able to cover a wide range of stories, from hard news to celebrity profiles.  I bring an editor’s eye to my reporting, having been an editor or columnist at Parenting, Working Mother and Glamour magazines, as well as newspapers and custom publications.

My articles have also appeared in The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, CBS Moneywatch.com, USA Today, the Christian Science Monitor, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Self, New York and Los Angeles magazines, among many other national publications.

My piece on “Acing the New Job Interview” was part of a CBS’s Moneywatch.bnet.com package that won the Society of Business Editors and Writers annual Best in Business Awards.

My personal essays have appeared in a variety of publications and I’ve taught essay-writing workshops. I hold an M.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
