Welcome
I’m a New York-based college counselor, writing teacher, and journalist with one foot in the realm of college access (I have a certificate in college counseling from UCLA) and the other in the world of writing (I hold a Master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism). I was a reporter, columnist, and editor for 25 years; I wrote for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, CBSMoneyWatch.com, The Christian Science Monitor, and many other outlets.
Helping put low-income students on the path to college is also part of my world. I teach writing and conduct workshops for schools, libraries, and educational non-profits as a community service.
