How does it work?

I'm based in Los Angeles, but work with students in numerous time zones through Skype, phone and email. From initial idea, through drafts, revisions and final polish, I’ll be in a student’s corner from start to finish.

Brainstorming

We meet in person or through Skype or phone to brainstorm story ideas for the Common Application, UC Personal Insight Questions, scholarship essays and any others you choose. I thoroughly interview you and use questionnaires to uncover the best ideas. 

Topic Selection

No single prompt is better than another—but there is usually one that is better for you. I will help you match your best stories to the prompts that do them justice. I’ll also show you how to repurpose ideas for multiple prompts. 

Draft Reviews

We’ll work electronically draft by draft to make your essay the strongest it can be. My comments will address content, structure, details and whether you have made your point in a clear, focused, compelling way. 

Supplements

Colleges demand a higher level of research than ever before on why you are the best fit for them; that’s where supplemental essays come in. I will guide you on how to perform the research it takes to go beyond the obvious and present a winning case for yourself.
